Calendar Sync: Connecting Your External Calendars
Learn how to sync service availability with external calendars (Google Calendar / iCal) to reduce double-bookings.
Introduction
Calendar sync keeps your booking availability aligned with your real schedule. It helps prevent conflicts and reduces manual date blocking.
Google Calendar Sync
Setting Up Google Calendar Sync
- Go to your service's calendar settings
- Click "Connect Google Calendar"
- Authorize Ordafy to access your Google Calendar
- Select which calendar to sync
- Choose sync direction (Import, Export, or Bidirectional)
How Sync Works
- Import: Busy events from Google can block Ordafy availability
- Export: Confirmed Ordafy bookings can appear in Google Calendar
- Bidirectional: Both directions sync where supported
Sync Frequency
Sync timing depends on provider and system load. If available in your dashboard, you can also run a manual sync for urgent updates.
iCal URL Sync
Setting Up iCal Sync
- Get your iCal URL from your calendar provider
- Go to your service's calendar settings
- Click "Add iCal URL"
- Paste your iCal URL
- Save the configuration
Supported Providers
iCal sync works with any calendar that provides an iCal feed URL, including:
- Apple Calendar
- Outlook.com
- Most calendar applications
Best Practices
- Use a dedicated calendar for bookable hours if possible
- Keep timezone settings consistent across systems
- Review sync status before high-demand periods
- Test with a few sample bookings after setup
- Block personal or private events in your source calendar
Troubleshooting
Sync Not Working?
- Check your internet connection
- Re-check calendar permissions and token validity
- Ensure the iCal URL is valid and publicly reachable where required
- Review sync status or logs in your dashboard
- Contact support if issues persist
